About Dr. Pienkowski

Dr. Pienkowski serves allergy and asthma sufferers in Eastern Tennessee. He has opened allergy and asthma clinics throughout the Greater Tri-Cities/Knoxville area and organized the Eastern Tennessee Pollen and mold stations in Knoxville and Johnson City. Dr. Pienkowski specializes in adult and pediatric allergy, sinusitis, hayfever, headaches, immune disorders, and inherited/acquired immunodeficiency. His clinical interest are allergic d., asthma collagen-vascular d., immunodeficiencies and immuno-modulation. His research area includes mediators and cellular aspects of hypersensitivity reactions.

He earned his M.D and Ph.D degrees in Immunology from the Warsaw Medical Academy in Poland. From 1979-1982 he served as a resident in the Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. He furthered his education at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he was a Fellow of Medicine in Clinical Immunology and collaborated with Dr. Phillip Norman. Additional education included an honorary student fellowship in Cytology at the Kennedy Institute for Rheumatology, London, England.
